At a recent round table in the Senate, held under the auspices of Senator Ivana Váňová and Member of Parliament Jiří Navrátil, experts discussed the need for broader accessibility of art therapies and the establishment of clear conditions for their practice. PaedDr. Mgr. Marie Beníčková, Ph.D., President of the International Association of Art Therapies (MAUT), emphasized that interest in these methods is rapidly growing among the public, schools, healthcare institutions, and social services. Experts propose a legislative framework based on four key pillars: client safety, institutional responsibility of therapists, clear qualification standards, and professional security for therapists. The upcoming World Art Therapy Festival in Prague testifies to the international recognition of the Czech art therapy scene.
